THE NAME
A fantasy name. In 1983 the Voiello Pasta Company of Torre Annunziata commissioned the famous designer Giorgetto Giugiaro (1938-) with the project of a new pasta format. So the Marille were born. They are a sort of double Rigatoni with inner ribs and a large curl, and were designed to collect and hold the sauce better. The new format raised great interest in consumers and in the press.
