Sceneggiatura

This time Giorgio Abertazzi shows images of the United States from the 1920s and the Era of Prohibition, which was so called because the production and sale of alcoholic drinks, including wine and beer, was prohibited. In those times, to drink a small glass of Cognac a medical prescription was required. Historical footage showing police agents intent in pouring rivers of liquor in the sewers follows. The extremely severe law that caused the increase of illegal production of alcoholic beverages was abrogated by President F.D. Roosevelt in 1933. Albertazzi, changing the theme of the spot, recalls the death of Enrico Caruso (1873-1921) in Naples, and that he had chosen America as his country of adoption. Of him we have left photographs, some footage and most of all his records, and while Albertazzi gives the word to Barilla, the unforgettable voice of the tenor plays in the background. The final advertisement lines follow.
